Ground Control & De-Escalation Strategies
"Managing People in Crisis on the Ground"
Claims relative to the use of unreasonable and/or excessive use of force negatively impact the individual officer, department, and thereby diminish the level of service that the community requires.
Integrated Survival Concepts (ISC) training instructed by Dwayne Fortes and staff DOES NOT teach lateral vascular neck restraints (LVNR's) and/or placing any part of an Officers body around the neck of a person in a manner that restricts a person's ability to properly breathe. This training DOES NOT teach fancy techniques seen on television or at combat sporting events.
What this training WILL DO is to explain, demonstrate, and practically apply reasonable force to accomplish hold-downs and control techniques that focuses on leverage over strength, patience over speed, and a clear understanding of what works, what doesn't, and why, through controlled repetitions that transition into and complement the primary components of handcuffing (Immobilize, Control, Handcuff).
Professional Training for Professional Results.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT EVERY OFFICER NEEDS TO HAVE GROUND CONTROL AND DE-ESCALATION TECHNIQUES AS A FORCE OPTION.
This training offered by Integrated Survival Concepts is SAFE, CONTROLLED, AND REGARDLESS OF SKILL LEVEL, GENDER, OR PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS, SHALL PROVE TO BE BENEFICIAL AND EFFECTIVE TRAINING FOR EVERY OFFICER.
Let's face it. Approximately 99.9% of ALL physical altercations, as a result of an individual refusing to comply with lawful directions, culminate with a confrontation ON THE GROUND.
When an officer is employing reasonable force to make a lawful arrest, or lawfully detain an individual, the officer MUST be familiar with "what to do" and "how to do it" if the individual refuses to comply with lawful direction. If the individual employs physical force to resist the lawful orders, then it is not atypical for the physical confrontation to result "ON THE GROUND." This typically culminates in physical and mental fatigue, which may result in the unwanted "transfer of aggression" by the officer. Often times this can lead to unnecessary injuries to the Officer(s) and other person(s) involved.
Of great IMPORT, is the potential for claims of unreasonable and/or excessive force, all which have a negative impact on the day-to-day operations of the agency, the officer involved, and the potential erosion of public trust.
Integrated Survival Concepts training focuses on the methodology and philosophy of jiu-jitsu FOR LEO'S and Correctional Officers. What this training does not do is prepare individuals to be MMA fighters, Boxers, or, Martial Artists.
This training compliments general Peace Officer Standardize Training (POST) regarding the use of force
I hope to train with your departments and personnel so that your members can experience how important it is to have lawful basic ground control, and lawful techniques as an option.
